EAP Reciprocity Course Enrollment

Graduate Students:

Contact your department at UCSD for information about enrolling in classes and departmental orientations.

Undergraduate Students:

Your college:

When you are admitted to the University of California, San Diego, you are assigned to one of the six undergraduate colleges. Your college assignment is for academic advising purposes, and does not restrict your course choice. Students at any college at UCSD may major in any subject offered at the university.

Selecting courses:

  • Consult an advisor at your home university to plan your studies.
  • Consult the online Schedule of Classes for your starting quarter.
  • Consult the UCSD General Catalog for course descriptions and prerequisites.
  • Check class restrictions. For example, "O: Open to majors only" or "D: Department Approval Required" might prevent you from enrolling. You can contact the department advisor now for permission to enroll during your appointment time.
  • Do the WebReg Tutorial to understand how to enroll in classes
  • Use the Class Planner under the Academics Tab in TritonLink. This allows you to look at your intended courses and plan out a schedule. You can set up several options and save them, then reference them once your enrollment time starts.

Enrolling in courses:

  • Go to WebReg as soon as your appointment time arrives. Enrollment is open after that date, however for best course selection, we advise you to enroll as soon as your start date and time allows.
  • If you are unable to enroll in a course – for any reason – and there are seats available – contact the department offering the course. In many cases the department advisor can allow you to enroll in the class or direct you to the appropriate faculty member for clearance.
  • Once you have completed enrolling in your fall courses, use the Weekly Planner button in Tritonlink to check your time grid and make sure you do not have any time conflicts (they appear in red).
  • Be sure to check your final exam schedule to make sure that you do not have conflicting final exams.
  • Print out your schedule. Check your course confirmation periodically before the start of the quarter to make sure no changes have been made (i.e., room changes, time changes, courses cancelled, etc).

Important Information

Waitlists: If you add yourself to the waitlist on a class, you are NOT enrolled in the class yet. The waitlist is automated, so as students drop the class you will move up on the waitlist. Remember that the waitlists end on the Friday of week 2. Before waitlisting a class make sure to contact the department advisor to see if this is the best option for you (they may have suggestions on other courses you can take, etc.)

Deadlines: University deadlines are strictly enforced. Check Tritonlink for a list of all quarterly deadlines including the deadlines to add and drop courses.

Insurance Payment and Enrollment Holds: You must pay your health insurance fee by the end of the fourth week of the quarter. Otherwise, a hold will be placed on your enrollment for the following quarter.
