Check out possible destinations before making a commitment or applying to the program. Consult the State Department website for country-specific information about security, crime, health and safety, political and cultural issues.

If you intend to get transfer credit or use UC San Diego financial aid while abroad, you will need to complete the OAP online application through MyPAO. You must meet with a Programs Abroad advisor prior to starting the OAP online application.
Your application may ask for signatures from your Programs Abroad advisor. If so, ask us in the appointment. You can usually pick up the signed form in 24 hours.
Some OAP providers may require students to obtain a judicial clearance or conduct check as a pre-requisite for admission to a study abroad program. Students should consult their Dean of Students or Resident Dean for this verification.
