Saturday, February 10, 2018. Ethnic Dinner: Australia (see FLYER)

Please join us for an exploration of the foods and culture of of Australia as we celebrate Australia Day at the Friends of the International Center’s Ethnic Dinner/Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, February 10, 2018, in the Great Hall at I-House. Please plan to arrive by 6:30 pm. Guests will enjoy a reception, a pre-dinner music performance by Christopher Canole on the didgeridoo, a thematic dinner, and illustrated talks by evolutionary biologist, Chris Wills titled Springtime in Australia and by Visual Artist Ph.D. candidate Alex Kershaw titled One of Several Centres (related to Alice Springs).

This will be our third dinner in the beautiful and spacious Great Hall in the International House. Please plan to arrive by 6:30 pm. See flyer for details.

Springtime in Australia

by Evolutionary Biologist Professor Christopher Wills

Through Professor Wills’ photography and always charming presentation, you will come to discover the beauty of Australia beyond Sydey. Experience the captivating wildflowers of Western and Southern Australia. Learn about some of the world's oldest fossils and a frozen wave of rock formed hundreds of millions of years ago. Enjoy the koalas in Adelaide. And, see what awaits you on Kangaroo Island.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED and are DUE BY THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1st. Seating is limted!

Please join us for an exploration of the foods and culture of Africa at the Friends of the International Center Annual Ethnic Dinner/Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in the Great Hall at I-House. Please plan to arrive by 6:30 pm. Please see attached flyer for details.

Guests will enjoy a reception, music, dinner, and presentations, including a talk by evolutionary biologist, Chris Wills titled Springtime in Africa during which you will experience Botswana, Namibia, Rwanda, and Tanzania through spectacular photographs and compelling stories.   • Botwana's Kung Tribespeople
  • Namibia's Skeleton Coast  
  • Rwanda's Dance Festival
  • Tanaznia's Hadza Tribespeople
  • Amazing wildlife and natural wonders including the world's largest sand dunes, the world's largest inland estuary, Mountain Gorillas, and the colorful Victoria Falls
